Miriam Levy

Miriam Levy is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist, and is a Staff Specialist at Liverpool Hospital, South Western Sydney Local Health District, NSW. 

Miriam was the Head of Department for Liverpool Hospital for 15 years. She has also served as Chair of the Liverpool Hospital Medical Staff Council and remains on the council as an Executive where she advocates on behalf of medical staff on issues ranging from operational challenges to strategic planning and system reform. Advocacy, equity, and sustainability have been cornerstones of her career and have led her to advise on national policy for neonatal hepatitis B prevention, as well as to develop hepatitis B guidelines and prevention strategies at a population level.  

Miriam has served the GESA Liver Faculty in an executive role and has chaired the Sydney Liver Dinner and Hepatology Roundtable. She continues to advocate for multidisciplinary collaboration, expanded research opportunities, and evidence informed practice.
