Nathan Main

Nathan Main obtained a Bachelor of Science (Molecular Biology and Biomedical Science, First Class) and a Bachelor of Forensics (Biology and Toxicology) at Murdoch University. For his Honours year he undertook a project with A/Prof Scott Wilson at the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes (Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital), where he used the CRISPR/Cas9 system to investigate the association of SNPs to familial thyroid cancer. Nathan has since taken Research Assistant positions, first with Dr. Andrea Holme at Harry Perkin’s cytometry lab (Centre for Microscopy Characterisation and Analysis) and later with Professor Nicholas Shackel (Gastroenterology and Liver Laboratory) at the Ingham Institute where he currently works on a range of projects on HBV, NAFLD and HCC.
