
Professor Narci Teoh
Narci Teoh is the current President of GESA. She is a Professor of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at The Australian National University, and a clinician-researcher who provides care to individuals affected by gastrointestinal and liver disorders at The Canberra Hospital and in private practice. She is active in the education of students, medical colleagues and the Australian community in the prevention of gastroenterological and liver diseases, especially against their related cancers. Narci’s translational research pursuits pertain to the conditions such as fatty liver disease which can predispose to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Her research has been funded by external competitive grants to date including the NHMRC, and embraces laboratory science approaches to disease mechanisms and therapeutics.
