Michelle Xiang

Michelle Xiang is currently a research assistant at the Centenary Institute working under Professor Mark Gorrell on chronic liver disease and fibrosis. Previously, she was a summer student at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and the Charles Perkins Centre. In 2017, she received her Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons) from the University of Sydney investigating mechanisms of host-gut microbial interactions. Her current project focuses on uncovering the mechanistic basis of extracellular matrix remodeling in chronic liver disease, with a focus on Fibroblast Activation Protein.
