
Professor John Olynyk
Director of Gastroenterology at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals Group and Dean of Clinical Research, Edith Cowan University. He is also the Honorary Director of Research, Spinnaker Health Research Foundation. John is a medical advisor to the Haemochromatosis Society of Australia and a consultant for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. He has established internationally recognized research programs in Hereditary Haemochromatosis and other iron disorders, chronic liver injury and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and has over 220 peer-reviewed publications encompassing the spectrum of basic and clinical research. This research has been directly applied to the implementation of national standards of care.
