
Hui Emma Zhang
Hui Emma Zhang received a Master of Applied Science in Australian Centre of Microscopy and Microanalysis, USYD in 2010 using cutting-edge microscopies that facilitates her study on breast cancer. She worked as a research assistant at the Garvan Institute for 1.5 years and became a PhD student in 2012. Her project is to investigate the biological functions of a protease called DPP9 in the field of cancer and immunology. She was award Doctor of Philosophy in early 2016. Her post-doctoral research seeks to understand the pathogenesis of chronic liver diseases including cancer, and to medically exploit the protease based treatment in liver steatosis, fibrosis and cancer.
