Diego Calvopina
Diego Calvopina obtained his Bachelor in Biology, focused on biomedicine, from Universidad de Navarra (Pamplona, Spain). After a brief experience as an analyst for the diagnosis of infectious and autoimmune diseases, he moved to Australia where he earned his Master in Biotechnology from The University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia). During this time, Diego gained some research experience at The Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB) and the Translational Research Institute (TRI). In 2015 Diego joined the Hepatic Fibrosis Group at QIMR-Berghofer, where he is currently a PhD candidate. His PhD focuses on non-invasive alternatives for the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis-associated liver disease (CFLD), specifically the use of circulatory microRNA and transient elastography.
