
Debbie Trinder
Debbie Trinder is a NHMRC Senior Research Fellow and Group Leader of the Iron Metabolism Laboratory at the University of Western Australia and Harry Perkins Research Institute in Perth. Debbie received her PhD from UWA and completed post-doctoral training at the University of Melbourne and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Her research is focused on Disorders of Iron Metabolism with interests in Liver Disease and Hereditary Haemochromatosis. Debbie will present her group’s recent findings on the role of non-transferrin bound iron, a redox active form of iron, on the pathophysiology of iron overload and injury in the liver in Hereditary Haemochromatosis.
