PRESIDENT'S WELCOME MESSAGE:
I warmly invite you to participate and present at the GESA 2018 Research Workshop. This workshop furnishes a unique opportunity in Australian Gastroenterology and Hepatology in providing a research forum for the interchange of ideas and to forge collaborations between GESA investigators, MD and PhD scholars, postgraduate scientists, career and clinical and science researchers. The program will be a mixture of State-of-the-Art overview lectures and Free Papers and will allow discussions of work-in-progress liver and gastrointestinal research. The Organising Committee invites you to submit an abstract describing an original investigation for presentation. The abstract may be of work in progress. I am delighted to welcome Professor Derek Mann, Dean of Research and Innovation in the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Newcastle University, UK as our international guest speaker. The program will also be supported by multiple keynote speakers: Professor Minoti Apte, OAM, Professor Emad El-Omar, Professor Mark A Febbraio, Professor Christopher Heeschen and Professor David Hume. The GESA Research Workshop would not be complete without mentioning the Dinner. The 2018 Dinner is going to be as exciting as ever with a fun trivia night, a wonderful meal and hopefully some dancing! Surfers Paradise boasts amazing weather and a three-kilometre strip of golden sand that is known as one of Australia’s most iconic beaches, a postcard-perfect locale that conjures up ‘paradise’ to millions. Once again, I invite you to join me at the GESA 2018 Research Workshop.
